Common Questions
Here we've listed some of the most common questions we're asked, about the
Three Peaks Challenge.
Q: What dates is the Three Peaks Challenge on?
Depending how you would like to do your challenge, you can either organise your
own challenge on any date, or take part in an event with us.
Our events take place throughout the year, and the exact date depends on the version
you would like to take part in. Our Open Bus challenge runs on several dates throughout
the year, and our premium Three Peaks Challenge is arranged on a date to suit you.
Q: How much does it cost?
There is no fixed cost for the challenge, and you're very welcome to arrange your
own, with no fees required.
We run organised challenge throughout the year, providing professional staff to
help groups complete the challenge. Please see our
Three Peaks Challenge booking page for information on pricing for our events.
Q: Can I organise my own challenge, rather than paying to take part in an organised
group?
Absolutely. Lots of people organise their own challenge - it takes quite alot of
time and organisation to sort out your own challenge. For a run-down of everything
you need to sort out, please see our
Three Peaks Challenge organisation page.
Q: How hard is the Three Peaks Challenge?
It's pretty hard, although the experience tends to vary greatly between different
people. Sleep deprivation plays a part here, affecting some people more than others,
particularly with awkward sleeping conditions. With an appropriate fitness plan
beforehand, it will be much easier.
Q: What training should be done beforehand?
You need to consider physical training, and skills training. Please see our
training page.
Q: Can we walk and drive ourselves, instead of finding someone else to drive us?
Ideally not - driving and walking is certainly not recommended. Driving while tired
is a major cause of accidents, and it just isn't worth it. Find a friend or
two to drive you, who can also help prepare food for the walkers when they return
to the car. Alternatively, we're able to offer hire of transport and drivers for
your challenge.
Q: Do I need to do it for charity?
This is entirely up to you, but there's no reason why not. If you can't
think of a charity that has a personal meaning to you, you might want to look for
a small, local charity. This way you'll be helping your local area and may be
able to see the results of your generosity.
