A Solo National Three Peaks attempt
Attempting the Three Peaks Challenge solo - climbing on your own, and driving yourself - is not recommended at all, due to the exertion involved combining climbing with driving. The details on this page are intended to document only that it is possible to do this, however unwise.
The below plan for a solo challenge will be attempted in mid-2008 by Nick Johnston.
Timing
Due to the nature of the solo challenge, it's needs to be treated as a long day, starting early and finishing late. In this case, Nick will be starting at 6am on Ben Nevis.
| 6am | Start Ben Nevis. |
| 11am | Finish Ben Nevis and start drive to Scafell Pike (seven hour drive). |
| 6pm | Arrive and start climbing Scafell Pike |
| 11pm | Finish Scafell Pike and start drive to Snowdon (three hour drive). |
| 2am | Arrive and start climbing Snowdon |
| 6am | Finish Snowdon - Challenge complete. |
This page will be updated with more information closer to the time. A journal of the challenge, photos and video clips will also be posted here afterwards.
