Three Peaks Challenge Code of Conduct
A future meeting between the National Trust, National Parks and the John Muir Trust,
taking place in Fort William, will decide a Code of Conduct for those taking part
in the National Three Peaks Challenge, in order to minimise disturbance to local
areas, and minimise damage to the three mountains involved.
News reports:
Update October 2009
Discussed on BBC Wales and in the Telegraph, the Three Peaks Challenge is blamed
for excessive erosion to mountain paths, as well as streams polluted with waste,
and increased amounts of litter. Ramblers Scotland and Cairngorms Campaign
recommend imposing a limit to the number of participants.
